Who is responsible
Keeper’s Round is developed by Rocket Shed in the United Kingdom. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
Information you choose to record
Depending on the mode and features you use, the app may contain:
- Your name, role and the name of a shoot, estate or game farm.
- Operational records about birds, deliveries, pens, daily checks, shoot days, eggs, incubation, rearing, health, medicines, biosecurity, customers, orders and dispatches.
- Names and contact details that you enter for colleagues, suppliers, customers, visitors or transport contacts.
- Map coordinates for boundaries, pens, feeders, drinkers and other field assets.
- Notes and photographs that you take or select and deliberately attach to a record.
You decide what to enter. Please avoid recording personal information that is not needed for the operational purpose.
Where information is stored
The current pilot saves operational records in file-protected storage inside the app on your iPhone or iPad. Photographs are re-encoded, which removes their original metadata, and are stored in the app’s protected storage.
The pilot does not currently upload its operational database to a Keeper’s Round server and does not use CloudKit for live record synchronisation. Data may be included in an iCloud device backup or an encrypted computer backup according to your Apple device settings. Device backup is controlled by you and Apple and is not the same as live CloudKit synchronisation.
Location and Apple services
Location
The app asks for precise location only when you choose to place a pen or field asset using your current position. It does not request background location or continuously track you. The coordinate you approve becomes part of the local operational record.
MapKit and WeatherKit
Apple MapKit displays maps. When weather is requested, a location coordinate is sent to Apple WeatherKit so Apple can return current conditions. These Apple services are governed by Apple’s privacy practices.
Camera, photographs, calendar and notifications
Camera or photo-library access occurs only after you choose the relevant action. Local notifications are optional and are scheduled on your device. If you choose to add a shoot day to a calendar, the information shown in Apple’s event editor is saved only when you confirm it.
Exports and sharing
PDF reports are generated on the device. Some reports exclude names, map coordinates and photographs by default. If you enable sensitive details or share an export, the destination you select receives that information. Keeper’s Round cannot control a file after you share it, so check the contents and recipient carefully.
Website and pilot enquiries
The current website does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics. It does not contain a web registration database. Selecting a contact or pilot button opens your email application; information you send is then processed by your email provider and received by Rocket Shed for the purpose of answering your enquiry and administering the pilot.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Local app records remain on the device until you edit, archive or delete them using available controls, reset the relevant workspace, or remove the app. Copies may remain in device backups until those backups expire or are deleted under your Apple settings. Pilot enquiry emails are retained only while reasonably needed to administer testing, respond to you and maintain an appropriate support record.
You can decline location, camera, photo-library, calendar and notification permissions. Core record keeping remains available, although the related optional feature will not work. To ask about information held by Rocket Shed, or request correction or deletion of a pilot enquiry, contact [email protected].
No sale, advertising or tracking
Keeper’s Round does not sell personal information, serve behavioural advertising or track activity across other companies’ apps and websites. The current privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected-data categories.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated when the app’s data handling changes, including before any account system or secure team synchronisation is introduced. The date at the top identifies the current version.
